Abstract

Play is closely associated with the symbolic expression of children's desires and inner feelings. Through play, children express their problems, conflicts, and frustrations. In a symbolic manner, they narrate the story of their lives, reflect the emotional climate within their families, and reveal the nature of their relationships with others. Consequently, play is no longer regarded merely as a form of entertainment or solely as a means of promoting physical, motor, and sensory development. Rather, it has become an essential tool for fostering balanced development across its various dimensions. Play therapy is a structured approach that facilitates insight into and understanding of the child's inner world, while also serving as an effective means of relieving psychological stress and modifying behavior. It helps reduce anxiety and tension among preschool children, enables them to reinterpret reality in ways that align with their needs and wishes, and mitigates the impact of painful experiences they may encounter.
