This study sought to identify the effect of a proposed educational program, built according to the play strategy, on the development of certain basic motor skills (running, jumping, throwing) among primary school students aged 6–7 years. For this purpose, the experimental method was adopted, using a design involving two homogeneous groups (control/experimental) with pre- and post-measurements. The study sample consisted of 20 students, divided equally between the two study groups, while the study instrument consisted of a number of tests specific to the basic motor skills under investigation. After collecting the data relating to the study's results and processing them statistically, all of the study's partial hypotheses were confirmed. Accordingly, it can be affirmed that the proposed educational program, built according to the play strategy, had a positive effect on the development of basic motor skills among primary school students aged 6–7 years.
