The purpose of this study is to measure the effect of following social media influencers on marital satisfaction among Algerian women, based on a study sample of 541 participants. Inferential data analysis was done using the statistical software SPSS at 0.05 significance level. Results show a very weak effect of following influencers on marital satisfaction among Algerian women as evidenced by a coefficient of determination estimated at 0.1%. However, the regression coefficient (slope) estimated at –0.029 is weak but negative, indicating that for each one unit increase in following influencers, marital satisfaction decreases by 2.9%. This inverse relationship allows for the prediction of the phenomenon. This indicates that any future increase in following influencers is likely to reduce marital satisfaction among Algerian women. The study also shows the presence of a very strong correlation between the educational level of Algerian women and their following of influencers according to Spearman’s correlation coefficient estimated at –0.222. The regression coefficient (slope) was estimated at –0.209, indicating that a one-unit increase in the educational level is associated with a 20.9% decrease in following influencers and being influenced by them. Furthermore, the results show that the Algerian women in the sample studied tend to follow and are influenced by influencers who present the model of the successful woman, followed by influencers who give advice and guidance, while influencers whose content is centered around daily life and cooking come last.
