This paper undertakes an analytical examination of Edward Said’s intellectual contributions, with particular emphasis on the multifaceted dimensions of his work and the enduring value they represent. Widely regarded as a foundational figure in postcolonial studies, Said’s influence became especially pronounced following the publication of his seminal text, Orientalism (1978). This study, therefore, discusses the distinguished position of said’s postcolonial Studies and evaluates his efforts by raising a series of questions: Why was Said the only to write about orientalism? Then why was Mohamed Annani’s translations considered as the closest and the most adequate? How does Edward Said perceive “knouledge and discourse”? What are the main critiques amid his work according to us?
