This study examines the main features of Abdelaziz Hamouda's critical project and identifies its intellectual and critical foundations. Hamouda did not simply comment on major intellectual changes from the margins. He sought to engage directly in the debate and to reconsider its questions from within. His project found its clearest expression in his well-known trilogy: Convex Mirrors, Concave Mirrors, and Emerging from the Labyrinth. These works form a coherent critical undertaking. They also reveal a clear development in Hamouda's position on Western modernity.
